  Creating skins for blogs or forums is not an easy task. While demanding HTML and CSS coding experience, the job also demands artistic skills and a good deal of taste. A lot of novice and experienced designers get stuck reusing the same graphics for common navigation elements over and over. While CSS and HTML can be made at the same time, creating attractive graphics demands a different approach and a different set of skills.

Navigation, posting and other graphics on a blog or forum consist of several dozen small images. Each image has to be made in the same style, while all icons should share the same gamma and colors to create a consistent look throughout the Web site. If the skin being developed is a Vista-style one, you're facing a challenge of using a quite specific set of drawing techniques.
